There is absolutely an art and there are very finite details that you will need to know in order to successfully open up your housings and then seal them back up I wanted to get the advice from the geniuses of reddit on the best way to address this, whether it be a full on headlight upgrade to leds, the addition of a led grill bar, and/or upgrading the fog lights. I’ve had my 5th gen for almost a year and the stock headlights frankly suck

I’d love to hear some of what you guys have done, either with new bulbs or totally new housings.
After listing my original oem 5th gen headlight housings for sale recently, i got a bunch of questions regarding my hid retrofit
A few weeks ago, i had lightwerkz in nj grab a new set of oem. We often drive from la to kern river on friday night so upgrading my headlights will make a drastic difference on visibility during the drive We got our hands on a pair of bxbuilt retrofit headlights that we put to the test Btwg is happy to bring you the first extremely detailed install video.
It is the best hid headlight upgrade possible since the projector will control the light. You’ll need to buy a $120+ led set to barely match the light output of the halogen The 4runner low beam housing is not designed for led, so the light output of otherwise good leds bulbs. If you are looking for a fairly affordable upgrade that can greatly impact your night time driving, upgraded headlights are definitely the way to go
I am going to dive.
